Geared for ages 50 and up of all levels of physical ability, but all ages welcome!

Pre-pay for 4 or more classes for $12 per class – $15 drop-in

Move to the Music! is geared for ages 50 and up and brings together creative movement with a variety of music for a fun way to develop physical well-being through dance. The class uses simple and safe, non-impact creative movement activities and dance steps that explore the basic dance elements of space, rhythm, energy and body awareness. All movement can be adapted for participation with any level of physical ability.
Participation in Active Aging – Move to the Music! may lead to a variety of the benefits of Creative Dance that can include:
• Inspiration of creative expression through movement
• Developing strength and endurance
• Improvement of cardiovascular health
• Gaining a better understanding of alignment and joint functionality
• Providing conditioning for the activities of daily living
• Enhancing stretch & flexibility
• Increasing balance, stability, and coordination
Taught by Andrea Ariel, Artistic Director of Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre and teacher of dance, creative movement, theater, and physical conditioning for adults and children for over 30 years. Andrea brings a depth of experience working with people of all ages and abilities, and is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Thriving on inspiration and motivation, her passion is to work with people to help them achieve well-being in their lives through the inspiration of dance and creative movement to learn more about their bodies, and have fun while doing it! Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre is currently in residence at the Carver Cultural Center as a City of Austin, PARD Instructional Contractor.
