Created and recorded on Zoom on May 30, 2020 featuring the talents of AADT dancers Whitney O’Baugh, Luis Ordaz, Ceci Proeger, Rebecca McLindon, Kevin Armstrong, and Sandie Donzica. The experiment is based on an improvisational ensemble building game we use to develop material and connections between the dancers. If we were in the studio we would stand in a circle. The person who starts brings a movement idea to the ensemble and then passes it to the next person who then takes the ideas given and develops from there….and so on until it comes back to the first person who ends it. We are experimenting with movement in relationship to the three-dimensional space within a two-dimensional rectangle. For this experiment the sound track is the birds from the the Artistic Director’s backyard.
